Alex Hofmann Joins the Beneficial Electrification League

[Arlington, Virginia] – The Beneficial Electrification League (BEL) is delighted to announce that Alex Hofmann has joined as Chief Strategy and Operations Officer.

Alex comes to the League following 13 years at the American Public Power Association, where he served as Vice President of Technical and Operations Services supporting the efforts of community-owned utilities that power towns and cities nationwide.

“We are thrilled to have Alex on our team,” said BEL President and CEO Keith Dennis. “Beneficial electrification offers utilities of every kind and size the opportunity to improve the quality of life for people in their communities. Alex’s leadership experience in serving a membership of some 2,000 community-owned public power utilities fits perfectly with the mission of the Beneficial Electrification League.”

“Alex’s experience supporting the public power industry will be a big asset to help grow and deliver the benefits of electrification,” said Austin Energy General Manager Jackie Sargent.

Hofmann comes to BEL with a track record of success, overseeing key member services for public power utilities, supporting technical projects and teams, and serving as an advocate and liaison between public power utilities and federal agencies. His leadership and vision were key to the success of Light Up Navajo, a project that brings new electric service to the Navajo nation.

“Alex has been truly instrumental in making Light Up Navajo a reality,” said Wally Haase, General Manager of the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority. “We appreciate his hard work, persistence, fortitude, and compassion – attributes that will benefit the greater cause of electrification to help advance the Navajo Nation’s electric system while improving the standard of life for so many Navajo families.”

“Alex’s experience with and ties to the nation’s public power utilities will help the League forge new partnerships with this vital sector,” said Gary Connett, BEL Board of Directors President. “Beneficial electrification presents an opportunity that is not limited to one type or size of utility. Alex’s experience, knowledge and vision will be invaluable to this industry-wide enterprise.”
